METS ~ Marine Equipment Trade Show

Amsterdam Rai Center

Booth location: 10.522

Super Yacht Pavilion – 10.522

Palladium Technologies received exciting news this year from Amsterdam that their wireless monitoring product iSiMON has been chosen the winner in the "Software Related Category" for the prestigious Design Award at METS (DAME) for 2009. iSiMON is the first and only "native" (not web-based) monitoring application for yachts designed for the Apple iPhone and iPod Touch devices with advanced technological features. The award was presented at the opening breakfast meeting on Tuesday November 17th.

No boats are included in this show but manufacturers travel from all over the world to particpaite in this very productive show. It runs in conjunction with the Global Yacht Forum which is hosted by The Yacht Report magazine. The Forum presents issues and concerns from the industry leaders of the megayacht world. This is always one of Palladium Technologies most productive shows and gratefully this year one of the most "rewarding".

St Maarten USSA Captains Briefing

St. Maarten-the Dutch Antilles

January 27th, 2010 7:00 p.m.  Captains Reception at Isle De Sol Marina

January 28th, 2010-all day event at Sonesta Maho Beach Resort - Maho Conference Room.

Exhibiting and New Technology Presentation

Palladium will be exhibiting and presenting at the 5th Annual U.S. Superyacht Association's (USSA) Captains Briefing.  This event has become one of the highlights of St. Maarten’s winter yachting season.  The USSA members will be offering information on world destinations and the latest in new superyacht marine technology.

Palladium will be presenting the topic: APPLYING MULTI-TOUCH TECHNOLOGY IN TODAY’S SOPHISTICATED YACHT SYSTEMS.  One of the first implementations of multi-touch technology was in the science fiction movie Minority Report with Tom Cruise.  On a much smaller scale, multi-touch is used today on Apple’s iPhone and iTouch, and is also being introduced in AV and Lighting control systems as well.

Our iSiMON product was the first Apple licensed implementation using this technology for the remote monitoring and control of the ships systems.  The market demand for this implementation is supported by the survey conducted at the Monaco 2009 boat show, resulting in over 50% of the attendees having either an iPhone or iPod/touch.  Further supporting this concept at METs 2009 in Amsterdam, the iSiMON application won the DAME award in the software category for innovation.

The objective is to free the user from the constraints of the keyboard by using special software and touch screens to parallel the interactive thought processes of the human brain.  Quick interaction with the yacht systems is the intent of this new technology.  The next evolution in our interface to the systems onboard yachts must evolve beyond the old and restrictive keyboards and mice, and the multi-touch is currently on the brink of making this happen.  Some of Palladium’s current implementations of this technology will be discussed, along with demonstrations of real world applications.
