Safety Screen
SiMON can monitor the status of doors, hatches, bilge pumps and fire alarms with this add-on module. In this example, there are eight areas actively being monitored for fire and smoke. All of the zones are green, meaning they are safe with no smoke or fire. When a zone alarm is triggered by fire or smoke, the indicator beside the label will turn red. An alarm can be associated with this zone to inform the captain or engineer of this critical problem.
Indicators show the status of any monitored component, and the system also posts the date and time beside the indicator when a condition is triggered. This provides history or a time stamp at a glance.
A total of 27 alarm zones or areas can be monitored by SiMON for fire and smoke.
Doors/Hatches Screen
On the Doors screen, 27 individual doors can be monitored. Green indicates that the door is shut and red indicates that the door is open. The hatch screen is identical to the doors screen and monitors up to 27 hatches.
